USC s Safad launches Lantawan magazine

SunStar + February 28, 2021 THE University of San Carlos (USC) School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design (Safad) formally launched its February 2021 issue of the Lantawan Magazine dedicated to the celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the country on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021. Architect Margret Rosario, dean of Safad, said during the online launch that the February 2021 issue of the Lantawan Magazine is a special issue as it reflects the development of arts and architecture during 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. Brother Bela Lanyi, SVD, editor-in-chief of the Lantawan Magazine, said the stories of the issue have no headlines as they are a time document.

Retired Cebu prelate tests positive for COVID-19

Published February 21, 2021, 9:32 AM Another Catholic prelate has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Archdiocese of Cebu said retired Cebu Auxiliary Bishop Antonio Rañola has contracted coronavirus disease  and that his health condition is stable. The 88-year old bishop was admitted to a hospital on Friday morning, Feb. 19,  due to “severe coughing”. “His vital signs are stable and is also under close medical supervision by his doctors,” CBCP News quoted the archdiocese statement released Saturday, Feb. 20. The archdiocese said one of its priests, Father Russel Sungcad, was also hospitalized for COVID-19. Sungcad is currently assigned at the Alliance of Two Hearts Parish in the city’s Banawa district.
