Just 19 minutes ago, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Pecos, Reeves County, Texas, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Thursday 3 June 2021 at 4:14 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 2.4 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Coyanosa (pop. 160) located 15 miles from the epicenter. In Pecos (pop. 9,500, 26 miles away), Fort Stockton (pop. 8,600, 27 miles away), and Monahans (pop. 7,700, 40 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred early morning on Thursday 3 June 2021 at 4:53 am local time near Acapulco de Juarez, Acapulco de Juárez, Guerrero, Mexico, as reported by Mexico s National Seismological Service (SSN).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a moderately shallow depth of 41 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
