In addition to Edgar Wright’s dream double-bills the Ipswich Film Theatre will be offering audiences a chance to catch up with some Oscar-winning movies on the big screen.
Dan said: “We’ve packed our reopening programme with BAFTA and Oscar winners like Sound Of Metal, Minari, and The Father. We’re also taking to the road with six films exploring the evolving American Dream: Frances McDormand stars in Chloé Zhao’s BAFTA and Oscar-winning Nomadland, Kelly Reichardt explores the birth of American capitalism in First Cow, Paul Newman demands to live free in Cool Hand Luke and we have the BFI reissue of Robert Altman’s Nashville in 4K.

Dread Central: Are there rules for found footage? If so, what was your set of dos and don’ts?
Dutch Marich:
Oh man. I think every movie has its own unique set of rules. I think it’s necessary to have dos and don’ts to create the world in which the story takes place.

Recently I was sent a link to a mysterious new found footage flick called, Horror in the High Desert. It scared the hell out of me. And the other day I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking with the film’s director Dutch Marich.

Marich tells Dread Central: “
Not only is there a sequel, but I have plans for a Horror in the High Desert Universe – Skinwalkers & Haunted Hotels & Ghosts, OH MY!…… I grew up in the High Desert of Nevada and there are plenty of scary stories to be told out there. I actually grew up in the tiny town of Ruth, Nevada that’s in the movie.”
The event won the award of Best Scare Zone and Roaming Actors.

An event which brought screams to a Norfolk seafront attraction has seen off competition from Alton Towers to claim an award at the international tourism horror Oscars.
Fairground Frights will be returning to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach this October.

Fairground Frights debuted at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in Halloween 2020 and has won the Best Scare Zone and Roaming Characters category at ScareCON, the European awards for companies that work within the scare industry.
The event also came runner-up in the Best Halloween Scare experience and Best New Event/Attraction categories.
