CSU music alum Robert Bonner performs at presidential inauguration

College of Liberal Arts 21 Jan, 2021 A Colorado State University music alum and trumpet player, Staff Sgt. Robert Bonner, performed in the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony in “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. The band provided music for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol; the band performed “Hail to the Chief” to honor President Biden, in addition to accompanying Lady Gaga on the national anthem. Staff Sgt. Robert Bonner Trumpeter/cornetist Staff Sgt. Robert Bonner of Payne Springs, Texas, joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in October 2015. Bonner began his musical instruction on trumpet at age 11. After graduating in 2006 from Eustace High School in Eustace, Texas, he earned his bachelor of music in music education from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 2010. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office: Suspect who assaulted deputy, then fled now in custody Joshua Smitherman (Source: Henderson County Sheriff s Office Facebook page) By Gary Bass | December 20, 2020 at 11:08 AM CST - Updated December 20 at 11:08 AM HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Henderson County law enforcement officers have captured the man who allegedly assaulted a deputy Saturday morning and then fled on foot. According to a post on the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Joshua Thomas Smitherman, the 28-year-old suspect, is now in custody. At this point, Smitherman has not been formally charged yet. Earlier Saturday, the sheriff’s office asked for the public’s help in locating Smitherman. During the brief search, authorities thought he was still in the Payne Springs area.

Henderson County Sheriff asking for help to find assault suspect

Credit: Henderson County Sheriff s Office Author: Claire Wallace Updated: 5:02 PM CST December 20, 2020 PAYNE SPRINGS, Texas UPDATE: The suspect is in custody at this time.  The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating Joshua Smitherman after he assaulted a deputy while being detained, according to a Facebook post by the agency. Smitherman later fled the scene on foot.  He is wanted for aggravated assault against a public servant. Smitherman was detained after the Henderson County Sheriff s office received a call about a suspicious person in the Cherokee Shores subdivision. Officers believe he is still in the Payne Springs area.
