To date, 30,030,084 Americans have been infected with the virus and 545,022 have died as a result. On a per capita basis, the U.S. has one of the highest known infections rates in the world. In the Kansas City metropolitan area, which covers parts of Missouri and Kansas, a total of 197,762 COVID-19 cases have been reported to date. Adjusted for population, there have been 9,388 reported infections for every 100,000 people in the area in line with the national rate of 9,179 cases per 100,000 people.

MSHP Arrest Reports For April 1, 2021 The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 29-year-old Michael D. Schlotman of Warrensburg at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday in Cass County.  He was wanted on three failure to appear warrants out of Bates County, and a Warrensburg Police warrant for Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Schlotman was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Schlotman was taken to the Cass County Detention Center, where he was booked and released.   The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 56-year-old Glendal E. Phares of Eldon at 7 p.m. Monday in Miller County. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released for medical treatment. He suffered serious injuries after the 1986 Honda Fourtrax ATV he was driving struck a rock on West Lake View Drive at 6:30 p.m., and the ATV overturned. Phares was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by Miller County EMS.
