BERLIN, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) Borussia Monchengladbach booked its spot in the last 16 of the German Cup after easing 5-0 past 10-man fourth division club Elversberg on Tuesday.
Elversberg staged a courageous opening period before Monchengladbach took the reins in style as Hannes Wolf nutmegged goalkeeper Frank Lehmann for the opener in the fifth minute.
Elversberg remained unimpressed and continued to be offensively minded, but the Foals clinically doubled their advantage with their next chance after Laszlo Benes utilized a rebound to make it 2-0 from the edge of the box with 21 minutes played.
