Drink wine, have sex, advises leading French doctor 10th February, 2021 by Patrick Schmitt
A book by former chairman of France’s National Cancer Institute, David Khayat, urges people to enjoy life’s pleasures, from sex to wine, and, as one might imagine, it’s attracting much debate.
Following the release of his newly-published tome,
Arrêtez de Vous Priver (Stop Depriving Yourselves
), Khayat has featured in a range of leading French media over the last few days, promoting the message that people should have a “few small excesses, without feely guilty,” as reported by French commercial radio network, RTL.
Such indulgences are necessary for a person’s self-esteem, according to Khayat, who points out that the constant denial being promulgated by organisations, governments and some doctors are in fact harmful to the mind, while making little difference to the body.

BARNSLEY captain Alex Mowatt is ‘holding off’ on signing a new contract until the summer – but staying at Oakwell is his ‘number one option’ insists chief executive Dane Murphy.
The much-admired midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, with the Reds offering him a new deal last month.
Mowatt has been a regular presence in central midfield for the last three seasons, playing 141 games and scoring 16 goals since signing from Leeds United four years ago.
Murphy told the Chronicle: “It’s well-documented we have spoken to Alex and his representatives multiple times.
“We offered him a new contract in the January transfer window and he’s held off on that for now.
