Virtual Vaccine Town Hall Tonight at 6 p m

Dr. Nathalee Kong, chair of the Revere Board of Health, and Lauren Buck, director of the Revere Health Department, will appear at a Virtual Vaccine Town Hall today, Wednesday, Jan. 27, (6 p.m.) on the City of Revere Facebook. The two leaders in the Revere health community are expected to speak about COVID-19 and the process by which COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered to Revere residents in the coming weeks. Buck appeared at the City Council meeting Monday night at the request of Ward 4 Councilor Patrick Keefe to discuss the rollout of the vaccines. Buck and Kim Hanton, Chief of Staff to Mayor Brian Arrigo, led an effort to distribute the vaccines to 600 first responders from Revere, Winthrop, and Chelsea at a three-day regional clinic at Rumney Marsh Academy. Buck said the vaccine distribution process is a work in constant motion, citing Gov. Charlie Baker’s decision this week to move residents 65 years or older into a higher position of priority in the state’s vaccine

Zambuto Elected Council President

The Revere City Council unanimously elected Councilor-at-Large Anthony Zambuto as president at its first meeting of the new year Monday night. Giannino to Be Inaugurated as State Representative Today in Boston Jessica Giannino is scheduled to be inaugurated as state representative for the Sixteenth Suffolk District in a ceremony today (Wednesday) at noon in the House Chambers at the State House. Giannino, a Revere councillor-at-large, is succeeding RoseLee Vincent in the seat that encompasses Revere, Chelsea, and Saugus. First City Council Meeting of Year is Monday Night The Revere City Council will be meeting for the first time in the new year Monday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held remotely and be available for viewing on Zoom and Revere TV.

The general election (Democratic Primary winner versus Republican Primary winner) will be held on Tuesday, March 30. As of Tuesday, no Republican candidate had entered the race. Candidates have until Jan. 19 to submit their nomination signatures to the Revere Election Department or the Winthrop Town Clerk’s Office. The five Democratic candidates have been reaching out to supporters and elected officials in both Revere and Winthrop. In fact, some key endorsements in the race are expected to be announced within the next seven days.

Keefe: It Was an Honor to Be Council President – Revere Journal

Ward 4 Councilor Patrick Keefe completed a successful year as City Council President. The Council will elect its new leader at its first meeting of 2021 on Monday, Jan. 11. Keefe led the 11-member Council through an unprecedented year that was dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic which had a major impact on all areas of life in Revere. Due to the coronavirus, the Council began holding its meetings on Zoom, giving councilors the opportunity to participate remotely from their respective homes. To their credit, Keefe and virtually all of his colleagues had perfect attendance records in 2020. Keefe drew praise from his colleagues for his leadership and accessibility throughout the year. He was held in high esteem by the longer-serving councilors and the newer members such as Councilor-at-Large Gerry Visconti and Ward 6 Councilor Richard Serino.
