It s not peak-time for GAA content, what with Congress in the rear-view mirror and no on-field action for a while yet.

In a nice turn, the first All-Ireland championship under the new format ended up being won, via the backdoor, by the only county to vote against its adoption at Congress.
What else? The Rossies lit up the championship and then allegedly lit up their rivals jerseys. The Dubs headed off on tour, Hill 16 pitching up on the Killinan side of Thurles in one of the more famous games of the decade.

Dublin had nine players selected and even then Stephen Cluxton, Robbie McDaid and Sean Bugler made decent cases for inclusion.
The Government is
planning a crackdown on the misuse of scramblers, including giving gardaí extra powers to stop unlawful use of the bikes in the likes of public parks.
However, locals in some of the affected areas believe such bikes have a major role to play in keeping young people active and out of trouble.
While authorities move ahead with the new legislation, some people in the Moyross estate in Limerick believe giving children and teenager a dedicated track would be a way of working with local communities rather than against them.
Henry McKean travelled to Moyross, where young children are among those using the super fast bikes.
Cork South-Central: 4 seats
Taoiseach Micheál Martin is a youthful 60 but, if he stands down as Fianna Fáil leader during this term, then attention turns to whether he runs again. There’s no shortage of family members to fill his boots but passing the seat won’t be easy. Fianna Fáil Finance Minister Michael McGrath will be strong again. Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Sinn Féin have a guaranteed seat, so the second Fianna Fáil seat is the only question. Sinn Féin’s Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire will have a running mate in Carrigaline. Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney will have to manage the vote vastly better to bring in Senator Jerry Buttimer.
