Former Westosha superintendent to continue as Gateway Technical College Board chair

A former superintendent of the Westosha Central High School District in Paddock Lake will continue to direct the decision-making body of Gateway Technical College. R. Scott Pierce, who has served on the Gateway District Board since 2009, was appointed to serve as chairperson for the next year at an organizational meeting Monday. Pierce held the position this past year and was again tapped to serve in the leadership role by his eight elected colleagues. Pierce In 2018, Pierce retired from the Central School District after a decade as the high school’s top administrator and a 35-year career in education. His degrees include a doctorate of education from Cardinal Stritch University.

Jul 13th, 2021 If you’ve been wondering if that posted 45 mph speed limit through the construction zone west of Paddock Lake to almost the county line is always in effect even when there’s no work going on, Wheatland Constable Robert Santelli clarified the situation at Monday’s Town Board meeting. “That’s absolute during the construction,” Santelli said of the 45 mph speed limit. The state set it up so that it is in effect whether active construction is going on or not seven days a week 24 hours a day. The regular speed limit in that area is 55 mph. Santelli said lately he has been writing more tickets in the area recently, some for motorists traveling 20-plus mph over the construction zone limit.
