A Walk Down Main Street in Paden City | News, Sports, Jobs

A Walk Down Main Street in Paden City By Staff | Dec 23, 2020 Pineapple Park The citizens of Paden City don’t need to travel far to get in the holiday spirit. As far as decorations are concerned the city’s Main Street surely offers enough to help anyone feel the joy of the season and forget some of the troubles of the year. Volunteers of the Paden City Museum have been busy readying the large display windows of the Museum building with scenes of the season. Each window offers a different diorama from a nighttime flight of Santa and his reindeer bounding over a shoppe below, to a Christmas tree with gifts beneath and a depiction of Christmas morning from the past complete with a stand-up Victrola-style record player and games from the 1950’s to the 1980’s that are sure to bring back memories to the old and older alike as well as fascinate the young.

As a youngster growing up on the West side of Cleveland, it became a tradition at my Grandmother’s house on West 127th, to hang a lighted wreath on the front door. That along with the fresh cut Christmas tree covered in lights, ornaments and thousands of artificial icicles was the beginning of the Christmas season.
