LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - The City of Lawton and Lawton Police Officers Association have begun annual negotiations for union contracts for Lawton police officers.
On the table are officersâ salaries, benefits and guidelines.
The Lawton Police Officers Association has submitted a proposal for collective bargaining to the City of Lawton, but as of Tuesday, theyâve yet to receive a counter-offer from the City.
City officials say Lawton police officers have the best pay in Southwest Oklahoma, with a base salary at just under $41,000.

Korean cinemas were in defensive mode early on in the coronavirus pandemic, as a population familiar with epidemics chose to stay away from crowded places. Social distancing regulation caught up and then was wound down again in summer. That allowed for the successful theatrical releases of “Deliver Us From Evil,” which scored $34.4 million, “Peninsula,” which grossed $29.5 million and the year’s top Hollywood film “Tenet” ($16.4 million).
