Temperatures plummeted across the state with Brisbane s overnight minimum falling to 11.2C making it the coolest night so far this year. Brisbane Airport also dropped fairly low with temperatures falling into single figures at 9.7C, while the coldest spot on the Gold Coast was at Canungra with 4.7C.

Southeast Queensland was smashed by severe thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, with giant hail, 100,000 lightning strikes, flash flooding and damaging winds.
Brisbane’s peak-hour traffic was thrown into chaos with suspended trains, traffic light outages, flash flooding and hour-long delays to commuters through key inner-city routes.
Energex reported about 11,000 properties without power at 6.30pm, most on the Sunshine Coast.
Flash flooding was reported across Brisbane, with at least two vehicles caught in floodwater at Moorooka. Rain gushes in through the broken rook of the Kmart store at Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned severe thunderstorms will lash north-east NSW and south-east Queensland on Tuesday. With those severe thunderstorms, we re forecasting damaging winds, large hail, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and there s already some thunderstorms and showers on the radar at the moment, meteorologist Sarah Scully told Today.
The Bureau said a trough of low pressure will move across NSW in the coming days. Heavy rainfall is forecast for the south coast on Tuesday, with hail also possible.

Beginning with two shows on mother’s day weekend, Ipswich City Orchestra will deliver a series of performances across Ipswich and neighbouring regions in its Brass on Safari tour.
A brass quintet will perform music by Camille Saint-Saëns, Modest Mussorgsky and Australian composer Graeme Wright Denniss.
