Was There Voter Fraud In 2020? Most Texans Say No

One third of Texas Republicans support the Capitol riot, UH poll finds

One third of Texas Republicans support the Capitol riot, UH poll finds Democrats overwhelmingly opposed the insurrection, for which Donald Trump faces a Senate impeachment trial next week WASHINGTON – Nearly one-third of Texas Republicans support the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, a riot that left five people dead and prompted the impeachment of Donald Trump for inciting insurrection. The finding, in a poll released Thursday morning by the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public affairs, reflects the yawning chasm in the American body politic. While 92% of Texas Democrats opposed the attack aimed at blocking Congress from ratifying the Electoral College victory of President Joe Biden, 18% of Texas Republicans told pollsters they “strongly support” the actions of the mob, and another 14% said they “somewhat support” the attack.

Shot in the Dark: Many Texans Not Sold on Vaccine

By iHeartMedia s Corey Olson Feb 4, 2021 As COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out, hundreds of thousands of Texans are lining up to get them. But a large number are not so anxious to take the shot. A new survey from the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs finds nearly one-third of Texans (32%) say they probably or definitely will NOT get the vaccine. That number is important, because most experts say that in order to achieve herd immunity, you need to have between 70 to 90 percent of the population vaccinated, says Renèe Cross, Director of the Hobby School. More than half of respondents said they definitely or probably WILL get the shot, while 9% have not decided.

Survey Asks Texans About Vaccine Preference

Vaccine incentives: Are they a good idea?

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) With the country still struggling with the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, the timeline for when the country will reach herd immunity is still murky. Some employers have begun incentivizing employees to get the vaccine in hopes it will encourage those who are on the fence about getting the shot. According to health experts, about 70% to 90% of the population need to be vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity. A recent study from the University of Houston revealed about 3% of Texans who responded to the university s Hobby School survey said they already had received at least the first shot in the two-shot immunization process.
