Late-night fire destroys SW Redmond duplex unit; no injuries (Update: Adding video, neighbor s comment, cause) $175,000 in damage; cause under investigation REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – A fire late Saturday night destroyed one unit of a southwest Redmond duplex, but firefighters were able to limit damage to the adjoining unit, officials said Sunday. Redmond Fire & Rescue units were called just before midnight to the reported attic fire at a duplex in the 1700 block of Southwest Metolius Avenue, Battalion Chief Ken Brown said. No one was home in either duplex at the time of the fire, Brown said. Arriving crews saw flames coming through the roof of the unit, established a water supply, deployed hose lines and attacked the blaze, while others searched the second duplex unit to make sure no one was inside.

Thanks to Citizens Bank volunteers Connections365.org in a news release thanked Citizens Bank for sending volunteers to help remove a tree, cut wood and clean up the damage from the ice storm.  The youth at Connetions365 live on site were not allowed to walk around the therapeutic path or gardens until Jim Vu and his team volunteered their bodies, minds in a spirit of teamwork, collaboration and just hard work into our campus, the nonprofit stated in the release. Pacific Power building new service center, training facility at Bend s Juniper Ridge

Pacific Power Rendering of Pacific Power s new Central Oregon service center, training facility at Bend s Juniper Ridge BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Recognizing Central Oregon as one of the fastest growing areas in the Northwest, Pacific Power said Monday it is building a new service center to take care of local customers and a state-of-the-art training facility where employees company-wide will come to keep their skills sharp. The new facility will be in the Juniper Ridge Industrial and Business Park in northeast Bend and consolidate the operations of three offices now spread throughout the Bend area, the utility said. Utility officials said the city permitting process is underway. The training facility is due to be completed by November, while the service center will be serving customers by late next year.
