A team from the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), comprising its Chief Executive (Mr. Lisiate ‘Akolo), Manager Marketing and Membership Services (Mr. Christopher Cocker) and Membership Officer (Diane Nalatu), is currently visiting three of its members, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands.
The team’s mission is to promote membership as well as giving the opportunity for Mr. ‘Akolo, who has been on the job for only six months, to visit three of the Melanesian member countries of SPTO.
SPTO, a regional organization, has 13 member countries and nearly 80 private sector members. SPTO’s main function is to promote tourism on a regional basis, especially in the areas of marketing and promotion, research and statistics, and human resource development and training.
