Beloved wife of the late James for 69 years; dear mother and mother-in-law of Nick (Judy) of St. Louis and Dr. Steven (the late Andrea Lederfine) of Andover, MA. Adored as the best grandma ever by seven grandchildren Amy, Kate, Molly, Samantha, Benjamin, Theodore, and Margaret and will be missed by seven amazing great-grandchildren.Â
Jan, a graduate of Pacific High School, completed Nurses Training at Jewish HospitalâSt. Louis in 1950, where she worked as an RN and met her future husband while caring for his father. After raising her sons, she returned to nursing at the Jewish Center for Aged where she became a head nurse and was loved by all residents. Â
The Curry County Cultural Coalition, in a special grant cycle for 2021, awarded grants totaling $7,500 to 14 organizations whose projects most closely fit the goals and guidelines for the Oregon Cultural Trust and the CCCC. The purpose of the awards is to increase public participation in Oregon culture. An additional focus for the special grant cycle was to assist organizations with COVID-19, such as retooling to adapt the delivery of programs to conform with physical distancing and other public health and safety mandates. Eligible expenses included computer hardware and software, cameras, training, facility retrofitting and sanitizing, personal protective equipment and more.

Oregon Coast Anglers will award three $1,000 scholarships for students graduating from high school in 2021.
The scholarships are through Oregon Coast Anglersâ Conservation Scholarship Program and the one requirement is that recipients plan to pursue higher education in majors relating to the conservation of Earthâs resources.
âConservation of our natural resources is becoming more and more important for our generation and will be for generations to come,â said Oregon Coast Anglers President Steve Godin. âWe hope these scholarships will encourage todayâs graduates to pursue a career in conservation.â
Coastal schools included in the program are Siuslaw High School, Mapleton High School, Reedsport Community Charter School, Elkton High School, North Bend High School, Marshfield High School, Bandon High School, Coquille High School, Pacific High School, Gold Beach High School and Brookings-Harbor High School.
Independence High School had a lower graduation rate than Liberty Union High District s overall graduation rate at 53 percent, according to the California Department of Education. In comparison, Liberty Union High District had a graduation rate of 87.4 percent for the 2017-2018 school year. According to CDE data, graduation rates continue to indicate an increase in disproportional academic performance between white, Black, Latino, and English learner students. According to the National Centre for Education Statistics, in the 2017-2018 school year, of the 50 states where data was collected, students with disabilities were at the bottom of 4-year high school graduation rates by student group.
Independence High School had a lower graduation rate than California s statewide graduation rate at 53 percent, in comparison to California’s graduation rate of 88.7 percent for the 2017-2018 school year, according to the California Department of Education.
