The Sawyer Free Library is now open for select onsite services, six days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m. Visitors should keep visits to 30 minutes or less. The library has implemented extensive preventative measures and controls to keep staff and patrons as safe as possible. All staff and visitors must wear masks, practice physical distancing and all public spaces have limited capacities.
Express Public Computer Stations are available first-come-first-served for 30-minute sessions. People needing public computer access for more extended periods may check out a Chrome Book or an App Sampler Tablet along with a three-hour Wireless Hot-Spot.

What’s the big question these days around Beverly High School athletics? Which Morency is next?
There’s the Hall of Fame brothers from the 1980s – John and Andrew – the latter who is the current head coach of the Panthers.
There is also the 2010s brothers – Kevin and Jack – who are potential future Hall of Famers. And then, there is current 2020s player, and Kevin and Jack’s younger brother, Danny, who is the starting quarterback for the Panthers. There are all John’s sons, and Andrew’s nephews. They are all Morencys, and they are all successful student-athletes.

Marblehead & Swampscott High School musicians join in Shipping Up to the North Shore

North Shore high school band directors are a pretty tight-knit bunch and when one came up with a collaboration idea, nine others decided to pitch in.
The 10 schools created a virtual ensemble video of the Drop Kick Murphy’s “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” renamed “Shipping up to the North Shore.”
Marblehead band director Kevin Goddu said it was during a summer Zoom call that Danvers High School band director Jeff Daniels came up with the idea.
“I’m pretty new to Danvers High School; this is only my second year here,” Daniels said. “But I knew a few of the other band directors in the area, so I reached out to them and said, ‘let’s try to do a collaboration together.’”
