Feb. 1 Bellingham Public Library staff has returned to the downtown location after it closed last week during a homeless encampment on the building s lawn, but it will be next week before curbside pickup of materials will resume. We ll have staff back in the building (Monday, Feb. 1), working through the backlog of returns and requests, Library Director Rebecca Judd told The Bellingham Herald in an email.
Pickup appointments canceled Jan. 22-30 will be rescheduled Feb. 8-10, Judd said.

Jan. 26 City officials will take steps to end a temporary tent encampment on the lawn of Bellingham City Hall and the Bellingham Public Library by the end of the month, according to Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood.
The encampment, known as Camp 210, is a group of homeless campers and advocates living in tents on the lawns of City Hall (210 Lottie St.) and the public library (210 Central Ave.). Camp 210 was set up in November to protest the lack of shelter in the area.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. In response to the violence at City Hall over the weekend, Bellingham officials have announced closings.
In addition to the continued closure of Bellingham City Hall, the Bellingham Public Library has announced impacts.
The Central Ave library is closed at least for today.
In addition, curbside holds pickup services, curbside phones and library call center phones are temporarily closed until further notice.
All appointments will be rescheduled.
