LAKEWAY, Texas Jean Lockhart, affectionately known as Miss Jean at Belmont Village Senior Living Lakeway, spent her Wednesday morning celebrating. We re very fortunate to be here and be getting the shot and not having to scrounge around trying to get a shot like many of my family are having to do, said Lockhart. They re having to travel quite a way to get their shots, and I m sitting here and waiting for someone to show up.
Juanita Thomas is a lesson in patience and resilience.
She survived a frightening case of COVID-19 last March. Only now she has another reason to hope.
On Monday, the 93-year-old received her second dose of the coronavirus vaccine. It s a tremendous relief, but Thomas won t suddenly return to life as she knew it and the nonagenarian led a very active life at that. We re not going to just have all the freedoms that we had before and all the activities, Thomas said. It s going to take time.
Newly vaccinated seniors who have endured almost a year of painful separation from family and friends are starting to plan for life after the vaccine with cautious optimism. They re left with difficult questions.

David Archibald
David W Archibald was born April 23rd 1939 to George and Adeline Archibald. He passed away January 20, 2021 at Honor Health Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, Scottsdale, AZ at the age of 81.
David was a resident of Sun Lakes, AZ, and most recently Belmont Village of Scottsdale. He is survived by his sister Nancy Archibald of Brainerd, MN, cousins and friends.
Growing up he was fortunate to travel throughout the world following his father’s construction work. He was always proud of his soap box derby wins as a Boy Scout and attending the Boy Scout Jamboree with 50,000 other scouts in 1953.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Marjorie Cox said she has been blessed with good health for the last 103 years. I got typhoid fever when I was 6 and I had a mild case, she said.
Cox now lives at Belmont Village Senior Living in St. Matthews. Monday morning, Cox and all the other residents at the community received their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
