District 9 - Brainerd area
CO Patrick McGowan (Pine River) patrolled Crow Wing County lakes for angling activity. Anglers are starting to find some crappies in the shallow bays.
CO Chelsey Best (Crosslake) worked fishing, turkey hunting, trapping, burning, and ATV activity this past week. Enforcement action was taken for trapping issues, no fishing licenses, ATV-registration issues, operating an ATV in a wetland, and targeting game fish out of season. Assistance was provided for illegal burning. Two ATV safety classes were conducted. Littering along ATV trails was the biggest issue this past week.
DNR seeks information on 2 bald eagles that appeared to have been shot
Anyone with information on the two bald eagles is asked to call DNR conservation officer Demosthenes Regas or Minnesota s Turn in Poachers hotline at (800) 652-9093 or #TIP.

Here is the weekly report from Department of Natural Resources conservation officers in northwest Minnesota and adjacent areas of northern Minnesota for Monday, May 3:
District 1 - Baudette area
CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked turkey hunters and pike anglers. Enforcement action was taken in Marshall County for an untagged turkey that was being transported. On the Warroad River, enforcement action was taken for fishing without a license, fishing for northern pike and walleyes out of season and angling with an extra line from a kayak.
The newly-renovated location at 11 S. Broadway is expected to open later this year.

PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. Bell Bank is set to purchase and renovate the Wells Fargo bank building at 11 S. Broadway in Pelican Rapids, the firm announced via news release Thursday, April 29.
According to Bell Bank Chairman Richard Solberg, the financial firm is planning an extensive remodel for the 15,000-square-foot former Wells Fargo, which was originally constructed in 1971. The location will feature drive-up service and is expected to be reopened later this year.
