This week, Susan from BCF joins Zack to talk about the Stephen E. Upton “Love Your Community” Grant. Steve Upton is known for his charitable heart and love for Berrien County. A few years ago, he decided that one way he wanted to leave a legacy for Berrien County was to create a grant program at the Berrien Community Foundation. So, the Stephen E. Upton Love Your Community Grant was born!

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – The Berrien Community Foundation posted to Facebook on Tuesday their call for letters of intent for the Frederick S. Upton Foundation Grant.
The grant foundation is seeking big idea proposals that will positively impact life in Berrien County.
These big ideas should show innovation and vision for potential sustainability into the future and an evaluation of how the community will be changed for the better.
Non-profit organizations, units of government, religious organizations, or schools in Berrien County are all eligible for the grant which will reward $25,000 or $50,000.
Time is running out for local organizations to apply for a Frederick S. Upton Foundation grant this season. The Berrien Community Foundation says the deadline for the spring round of grants is March 15. All grant materials have to be dropped off at the BCF or postmarked by that date to qualify. The Upton Foundation supports a variety of projects in the community, usually focused on Berrien County. Additional grant deadlines for the year are June 15 and October 15.
