Huron Perth public health reported eight new cases and another COVID-related death in the region on Wednesday, the fourth this month during a third wave spike.
Miriam Klassen, the area’s medical officer of health, offered condolences to the person’s loved ones during a public health briefing Wednesday.

The death, which Klassen said isn’t linked to any of Huron-Perth’s third wave outbreaks, is the 56th in the region since the beginning of the pandemic.

LUCAN BIDDULPH – Lucan Biddulph chief administrative officer Ron Reymer provided an outline for council at its May 4 meeting of the municipality’s plans to move forward with a Fire Services Master Plan.
The master plan would involve both of the municipality’s fire stations – the Lucan Biddulph Fire Station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the municipality through the Lucan Biddulph Fire Area Board, and the Granton Fire Station, which Lucan Biddulph shares with Perth South and is controlled by the Biddulph-Blanshard Fire Area Board.
