Another five homes have been confirmed lost in the bushfire emergency north-east of Perth, bringing the total to 86, after firefighters entered their fifth day battling the out-of-control blaze.
Key points:
The focus remains around Gidgegannup, Shady Hills estate and east Bullsbrook
Authorities suspect a second blaze nearby may have been deliberately lit
Damage assessment teams discovered the gutted homes overnight as they continued carrying out a secondary assessment of properties in the fire zone, parts of which reopened to residents this afternoon.
Authorities say at least 59 homes have been destroyed with that number expected to grow as firefighters continue to battle an out-of-control blaze east of Perth.
