Man dies after car goes under tractor-trailer in St Louis County

Updated: 9:26 PM CST January 23, 2021 ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. A 73-year-old man died in a car crash in north St. Louis County early Friday morning. According to the report for Missouri State Highway Patrol, 73-year-old Robert Lee of Kinloch, was driving a Geo Prism and crossed over the lanes while driving on North Hanley Road, just north of Scudder Avenue. Lee went into the southbound lanes and his car went under a tractor-trailer, according to the crash report. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Berkeley Fire Department. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, according to the report.

Firefighters extinguish RV fire in West Berkeley An RV that was parked in West Berkeley caught fire at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Berkeley Fire Department dispatch scanner reviewed by Berkeleyside. The fire was reported in the 2400 block of Sixth Street, and there was no one inside the vehicle at the time, according to the unconfirmed scanner audio. The blaze also brought down Comcast service lines in the area. Witnesses reported that the RV was fully engulfed in flames. Several community members noticed the large plume of smoke in the area and asked Berkeleyside for details. Firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly after it began, according to scanner audio, but emergency vehicles were still at the scene as of 5:30 p.m.

Photo: Robert L Mathews Berkeley firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 500 block of The Alameda at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to fire dispatch scanner reviewed by Berkeleyside. Neighbors shared a photo of smoke billowing out of the top of a home, and said roads were closed throughout the Thousand Oaks neighborhood. Several residents also reported hearing the sirens of fire engines making their way to the fire. No information is currently available regarding whether the fire caused any injuries or the extent of the damage to the structure.
