Man dies after car goes under tractor-trailer in St Louis County

Updated: 9:26 PM CST January 23, 2021 ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. A 73-year-old man died in a car crash in north St. Louis County early Friday morning. According to the report for Missouri State Highway Patrol, 73-year-old Robert Lee of Kinloch, was driving a Geo Prism and crossed over the lanes while driving on North Hanley Road, just north of Scudder Avenue. Lee went into the southbound lanes and his car went under a tractor-trailer, according to the crash report. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Berkeley Fire Department. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, according to the report.

BERKLEY Russell Horgan, 65, may have retired in March as deputy chief of the Berkley Fire Department after 28 eventful years. But that doesn t mean he s totally a retiree.   He s now deputy director of the town s Emergency Management Agency. As such, he manages the 15 volunteer members of the town s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) that has outfitted an emergency shelter trailer with 50 cots and bedding and medical supplies and even a coffee pot for when firefighters need a break during lengthy emergency incidents.  The team also has its own ambulance and a trailer with on-scene lighting to illuminate fire and other emergency scenes at night.
