Mission man convicted on meth charges

A federal jury convicted a 49-year-old Mission man for conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of meth following an investigation into a collision, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Eugenio Perez Jr. was convicted of the charges following a two-day trial, a news release from the department announced. According to the testimony, authorities discovered 1.6 kilograms of meth while investigating a drag racing incident that resulted in a two-car collision.
At Perez Jr.’s trial, a local police officer explained Perez crashed into an SUV pulling out of a parking lot.

MUSCATINE, Iowa Four people were left injured after a stabbing incident in Muscatine early in the morning of Saturday, May 15.
According to the Muscatine Police Department, at about 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the 1000 block of 1st Avenue after being alerted to a fight taking place.
At the scene, police found a 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man that had been seriously injured, who was sent to the hospital. Additionally, there were also two other men, aged 23 and 19, who had been stabbed during the altercation who required treatment.
Police made two arrests after the incident: the 23-year-old Mike Perez Jr. and 19-year-old Jaime Gomez. Both were charged with Criminal Gang Participation, and Perez Jr. was also charged with two counts of Willful Injury.
Authorities intercept alleged marijuana transaction

Federal and local authorities stopped a marijuana smuggling attempt reported in east Laredo.
On April 29, the Homeland Security Investigations High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas task force received information about a possible marijuana transaction. At about 7:30 a.m., the surveillance team identified a suspect vehicle as a black Chevrolet Malibu in the parking lot of a business near the intersection of Texas 359 and Bob Bullock Loop
The driver was later identified as Wenceslao Perez Jr., 41. He was seen entering the Malibu and departing the parking lot. A Laredo Police Department officer tried to pull over the car after observing it run a red light. But Perez allegedly accelerated. He then abandoned the Malibu in the 3700 block of Daniela Loop in an attempt to flee to no avail.
San Angelo Woman Arrested for Brutal Murder in North San Angelo
SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo woman has been arrested Thursday night for a murder that occurred in early February.
According to court documents, on Feb. 9, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Cheyenne Crossing Apartments on W. 31st St. for the report of a shooting victim.
As officers were responding to the scene they found a suspect attempting to flee the scene while another person was lying dead in the parking lot. Officers quickly detained the suspect and identified her as 23-year-old Sydney Kennon.
