Relatives have accused the Catholic Church of covering up the murder of 16-year-old Elisa Claps, who was killed by Danilo Restivo, an acquaintance of hers, in the southern city of Potenza in 1993.

They are focussed on the exterior of this historic, Grade II listed building, which was built in 1835 in Silver Street and is one of many heritage buildings in the town.  The church is part of the Parish of The Most Holy Trinity comprising Axminster, Lyme Regis and Seaton. The work, which is being carried out by Daedalus Conservation under the supervision of historic buildings consultants Philip Hughes & Associates, is programmed to continue through the winter and be completed by the end of March.  The work includes specialised repairs to the roof, the pinnacles and stonework, rainwater goods and the rendering to the walls.  The overall cost, including professional fees, is in the region of £250,000.
