The City of Oceanside Harbor has just released the latest update on their dredging program, saying that Manson Construction started dredging work on Tuesday, April 13.
Under the official plan, they will deposit sand at North Coast Village for three days and then move to Surfrider for one day.
After that, they will move the dredge outfall pipe to the north side of the Pier, where they will deposit sand for two days.
At that point, they expect to have dredged approximately 150,000 cubic yards of sand.
“The contract calls for dredging 250,000 cubic yards of sand, however the City’s contribution this year will add another 50,000 c/y for a total of 300,000 c/y,” the City said.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District Commander Col. Julie Balten, visited Oceanside (CA) earlier this week to learn more about the ongoing dredging project in the harbor.
During the tour, Col. Balten, along with other representatives from the Corps, the City of Oceanside and Manson Construction, received an update about dredging project at Oceanside Harbor.
As planned, the dredging work began this week and is estimated to be completed prior to Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting.
Manson’s dredge HR Morris arrived in Oceanside Harbor on Tuesday, April 13 to begin the annual dredging campaign.

Manson Construction is making final preparations for the start of the annual dredging campaign in the Oceanside Harbor, CA.
City officials report that plastic dredge pipe was safely floated to Harbor Beach on April 7th. Snow fencing has been placed around all work areas.
They also added that ATV’s are being used to lead all movement of equipment on the beach. A 50’ wide delineated corridor has been established on the beach with signs warning beach users. Steel pipe is expected to arrive later today, April 9.
As reported, the dredge HR Morris will arrive in Oceanside Harbor on Tuesday, April 13 and commence dredging operations.
