The Canterbury-based independent car retail business, which is also behind the Carzam online retail operation which begun operating late last year, built on a record 2019 by selling more than 22,000 cars last year – up on the 20,404 sold in 2019. And the group was also able to report £11m EBITDA profit in a statement issued this morning (January 29), alongside a turnover down marginally at £295m (2019: £298.9m). Manheim signs two-year deal with Carzam Was this article useful? Manheim Auction Services has announced a new two-year contract with online used car retailer, Carzam. Carzam, which launched in December 2020, will begin a new weekly auction programme at the Cox Automotive-owned physical car auction network’s centres in Colchester and Wimbledon. It will also be working with Manheim to integrate eVA, its valuations and appraisals tool, on to its website allowing Carzam users to access valuations online. Manheim will start its new weekly auction programme in partnership with Carzam on January 21, 2021 at the two sites, with the auctions delivered through its virtual auction system Simulcast due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.

The Big Motoring World-backed digital business has appointed former Cox Automotive president and Manheim chief financial officer Buxton as director, and former Renault retail digital director Ashley Wade as digital marketing director. The two new appointments follow the hiring of Kirk O’Callaghan as CEO, who will join Carzam directly from Sytner Group’s CarShop. Last year, Carzam launched its new online car retail platform with a promise to differentiate itself from rivals through the provision of “the absolute best used car stock”.
