It seems that if you re a former professional wrestler turned actor, all roads lead through the
Fast Five, that was arguably the film that began his ride to becoming the biggest movie star in the world. John Cena is now about to make his bow in the series when
F9 comes out next month. But it turns out Dave Bautista also had a shot at joining Vin Diesel s franchise at one point. However, when presented with the opportunity, Big Dave wasn t that interested in talking about fast cars. He wanted to talk about chainsaw bayonets and the
Gears of War series.
I was country when country wasn’t cool.
That’s not just a Barbara Mandrell song. It could be the title of my autobiography, if I didn’t already decide it would be “Never Shake a Goalie’s Hand.” (Do it once and you’ll understand. Leather gloves and excessive sweating? The stink . the stink, I tell you.)
I grew up on country music. My mom saw Larry Gatlin one time at a Shoney’s salad bar in Nashville and darn near passed out on the sneeze guard. Our love for country music runs deep.
So listening to B105 was a natural fit, and despite my teenager’s insistence to change the station when she gets in the car, my radio finds it way back there time and time again.

While millions of people knew The Animal Batista in the WWE, more were introduced to the actor Dave Bautista thanks to
Guardians of the Galaxy. He brought the character of Drax the Destroyer to life in the ensemble film, and his character s particular mix of physicality and humor instantly won over fans. Bautista is on the verge of reprising the role of Drax for a third
Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and while the actor says he ll always be thankful for what Drax has meant to his career, he also wishes that more had been done with the character.

Of all the former professional wrestlers turned movie stars, nobody has ever put together a collection of films quite as different as Dave Bautista. He s done the big action movies that you d expect somebody from that world to do, but he s also done family comedies, serious dramatic roles, and everything in between. Bautista is clearly on a different career trajectory then others who have been in a similar position, and the future
Dune actor says that s ultimately why he made the decision to star in Zach Snyder s
The Suicide Squad.
