MMIP Film ‘Say Her Name’ about Big Horn County Opens Wednesday The short film ‘Say Her Name’ will be available for streaming starting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday on You Tube. Juliet Hayes of the Coushatta Tribe in Louisiana, the presenter for the film that chronicles the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls crisis in Big Horn County, spoke to KGVO News on Wednesday morning. “Say Her Name is a film that was directed by Rain who is also the director of Somebody s Daughter,” said Hayes. “Somebody’s Daughter was a documentary on missing and murdered Indigenous women and Say Her Name is also about missing and murdered Indigenous women, however, specifically Say Her Name examines cases of missing and murdered indigenous people in Big Horn County, which the documentary says is the epicenter of the MMIWG crisis which is located in Hardin, Montana.”

Two women convicted of charges connected to 8-year-old s disappearance

CROW AGENCY, Mont. - Less than two months after a child s body was discovered on Crow Reservation, two women are convicted in tribal court of charges in connection to the disappearance of 8-year-old Mildred Old Crow. Veronica Dust and Roseen Old Crow are convicted of endangering the welfare of a child and custodial interference.  Both women are sentenced to 18 months in jail and will be required to pay a $2,000 dollar fine. Both charges are misdemeanors, the only type of charges allowed to be tried in Tribal court. Crow tribal prosecutor Dave Sibley says the charges are connected to the disappearance of 8-year-old Mildred Alexis Old Crow.

Victim of shooting on Crow Agency identified, suspect still at large

Sibley says the shooting took place at the Teepee Service in Crow. Couture was life-flighted out of area to Billings for his injuries and his condition is unknown at this time. Fabian Dawes remains at large at this time, and is armed and dangerous. Authorities searching for suspect in Crow Agency shooting MTN and last updated 2021-04-08 00:46:19-04 A suspect remains at large Wednesday night after a man was shot and severely injured in Crow Agency earlier in the morning, according to Big Horn County Attorney Jay Harris. The suspect, whose name has not been released, is a man in his early 30s, approximately 5’11”, medium build, with several visible tattoos, Harris said in a news release. The suspect has several felony convictions for drug possession and theft and is on Montana Department of Corrections supervision, according to Harris. According to Big Horn County News, a argument took place between two men at a laundromat before the suspect shot the victim; the suspect left the scene on foot and was last seen in the Dunmore area.
