Belarus will not impose sanctions on Ukraine, but, at any time, Minsk could team up with Russian President Vladimir Putin and bring Kiev “to its knees” in just one day, Belarus’ Alexander Lukashenko told journalists on Monday.
Belarus' economy remains on the growth track despite the pandemic and sanctions, Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov said at the Big Conversation with the President, a meeting with the public, experts and media community in the format of a big press conference in Minsk on 9 August.
Deeper integration between Belarus and Russia is the imperative of the time, Editor-in-Chief of the Eurasia.Expert website Vyacheslav Sutyrin told BelTA. The expert took part in the Big Conversation with the President.
“I often cite Russian journalists as an example for Belarusian ones: look at how they work. I name certain journalists, especially those working on the RTR TV channel,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. At the same time, when Belarus approaches Russia for support in the media, all it gets is ‘a small statement' on popular TV channels.
