CHILLICOTHE- The Paint Valley Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health is asking for a renewal of their one-mill tax levy on the November ballot, according to Penny Dehner, Executive Director of Paint Valley ADAMH in a meeting with commissioners Monday.
The one-mill levy costs $35 a year to a Ross County homeowner with a home valued at $100,000, said Ross County Auditor Tom Spetnagel.

The organization also brought in $1,026,471 from federal sources and $1,626,328 from the state, along with $2,795,746 from grants for a total of $10,220,113.
CHILLICOTHE Penny Dehner worked in IT when she first started at the Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board, but a heart pull and a desire to have an impact led her to eventually take on the role of executive director.
That was in 2017 and since then, Dehner has remained dedicated to the organization s cause. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the 12-member, five-county board has been committed to addressing issues related to mental health and addiction. In the year ahead, Dehner hopes to continue to educate the community on the Paint Valley ADAMH mission. Humans are meant to be social so the pandemic has led to many challenges, Dehner said. We ve been working to help keep people on track.

The Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center (SPVMHC) outlined two new programs Wednesday it will offer to substance use disorder (SUD) patients Wednesday in the latest Highland County Drug Abuse Prevention Coalition (HCDAPC) virtual meeting.
The new programs Jail In-Reach and Wraparound were specifically made to help adults with a current or history of opioid use and/or stimulant use. They may also have co-occurring mental health disorders. The programs are due to Ohio’s State Opioid Response 2.0 program through a grant partnership with the Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board.
