with theft at Weis LOCK HAVEN Twins Christen Marie and Megan Jayne Probst waived their right to a preliminary hearing this morning and had all charges bound over to the next level of court. Christen and Megan Probst, 31 of Lock Haven, were both charged by Lock Haven City Police with retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft for incidents that took place between August 1 and August 29, 2020 at Weis Markets in Lock Haven. Christen was charged with 14 counts of retail theft and 13 counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft with her sister Megan. Megan was charged with 13 counts of retail theft and 13 counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft with her sister, Christen.

pray@altoonamirror.com A former Altoona man in prison for drug-related offenses that occurred more than two decades ago has lost his latest attempt to have his 31-year minimum sentence reduced. Charles A. Bellon, now 41, argued to the Pennsylvania Superior Court that he had been denied a hearing before a Blair County judge who was under a federal court order to resentence him. Senior Judge Hiram A. Carpenter of Blair County, who presided over Bellon’s trial in 2006, and who sentenced him to serve 31 to 62 years in a state correctional institution, was ordered by U.S. District Judge Kim R. Gibson to correct a portion of Bellon’s 2006 sentence.

Philadelphia expansion highlighted by two-level flagship store opening in March The Giant Company is expanding its presence in Philadelphia with a pair of new Giant supermarkets including its first two-level location as well as in central Pennsylvania with a new Giant store in Benner Township. After ground was broken in August 2019, a 65,000-square-foot Giant store is set to open March 19 at the corner of 23rd and Arch Streets in downtown Philadelphia as part of the Riverwalk project. An 8.5-acre, mixed-use development along the Schuykill River, Riverwalk includes two luxury residential towers plus commercial, retail, hospitality and community space. Giant’s store is situated on the second floor of the 26-story Tower 1 at 60 North 23rd St.
