Women of Color Make up Less Than a Tenth of Walmart Executive Leaders

Meanwhile, 74.5% of executives and 52.3% of hourly workers at Walmart are white.  We re investing in change, Ben Hasan, global chief of diversity and inclusion, said in a release.  Women of color are doing much of Walmart s hourly work, yet are responsible for few executive-level decisions. Women of color or workers who identify as Black, Asian, Latina, or Native made up 26.8% of all US hourly employees, according to a new report. People of color make up roughly half (47.3%) of all hourly workers.

A $3 million change order for the company that runs Augusta’s wastewater treatment plan is drawing questions as it heads to the Augusta Commission for approval. Commission committees also will take up a proposed nondiscrimination ordinance and crafting a new memorandum of understanding with Gold Cross EMS during Tuesday commission committee meetings. Macon-based ESG Operations Inc., which has operated the Messerly Wastewater Treatment Plant on Doug Barnard Parkway for more than a decade, is increasing its annual fee by approximately $300,000 to $6.3 million and adding $2.5 million in “additional work” in the request being presented by new Augusta Utilities Director Wes Byne.
