Under a plan approved by the Board of Trustees, the cost of a standard double room, which comprises the largest percentage of the University’s room inventory, would increase by $136 per semester to $3,563, and the cost of the mid-level meal plan the most popular option would rise by $67 per semester to $2,516, bringing the total semester room and board rate to $6,079 for the 2021-22 academic year. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Penn State’s benchmark room and board rate for the 2021-22 academic year based on a standard double room and the most common meal plan will increase by $203 per semester, or 3.45% over the 2020-21 rates, under a plan approved today (April 13) by the Penn State Board of Trustees.

Beginning today, April 13, Penn State community members across every campus location are invited to participate in a survey about the upcoming search for the University’s 19th president. As part of the Next Gen Penn State listening process, the survey will seek feedback from students, faculty, staff and alumni as well as other community stakeholders on characteristics, priorities and goals for the institution’s next leader.
Trustees to meet April 13 via conference call

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. The Penn State Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. on April 13 via conference call to discuss proposed room and board charges for the 2021-22 academic year.
The meeting will be available for listening purposes via livestream at https://www.wpsu.org/trustees/.

Other offices in the building support core functions of the college, from financial aid and billing to transcripts and introductions to the alumni network.
“Students need different forms of support at different points in their college experience,” Ford said. “Bob and Sally Metzgar’s longtime giving has provided resources and promoted opportunities at every step in that journey. The college is deeply appreciative of their steadfast support.”
The Metzgars’ philanthropic support of the college and Penn State dates to 1972, when they first donated to the Levi Lamb Fund, which provides scholarships and other support to more than 800 varsity student-athletes.
