Arcola Theatre is working with Imperial College scientists to investigate air quality and virus transmission in performance spaces.
The collaboration will help the theatre in Ashwin Street, Dalston to decide how to safely reopen its main building, as well as the wider cultural sector to adapt to new ways of working in the pandemic.
The artistic team will work with scientists to look at how air quality in indoor performance spaces might affect aerosol transmission of viruses such as Covid-19 and whether increased air flow might reduce the risks to audiences.

If you’re headed out fishing, please do your part to keep yourself and others safe by following COVID-19 public health and safety guidelines. Go fishing only if you’re feeling well. Practice proper social distancing (at least 6 feet away from people who don’t live in your household) and keep a face covering handy for when social distancing cannot be maintained. Frequently wash your hands with soap and warm water, or use hand sanitizer.
This weekly fishing report is compiled from information gathered from local bait shops, angler creel surveys and county and state parks staff. You can check the activity of your favorite lake or stretch of river within each district, including which species are being caught, a rating of the bite (slow, fair, good or excellent), as well as a hot bait or lure pattern.

Weekend weather is a tale of two different days. Saturday there will be snow in the area with highs near freezing. Sunday looks to be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 20’s. Remember to stay safe and test the ice you intend to get out on. No ice is safe so make sure you have safety precautions in place and are working with a buddy system in case of an accident.
Stay safe when fishing with these tips:
Try a new fishing spot if your regular fishing location is popular and busy, try out a new one that is not so crowded.

This weekend will feature an interesting variety of wintry weather. Snow will grow in intensity during the day and into the evening Saturday while Sunday will be mostly cloudy in most locations recovering to highs in the mid 20’s. Anglers will have to deal with a potential of 1 to 4 inches of new snow covering the ice on area lakes and rivers. Use caution when venturing out on lakes and look at the reports below for a complete rundown on the ice thickness of the lake or river you want to go out on. Remember to always have someone with you or take all necessary safety precautions before venturing out. No ice is safe.
