The celebratory spirit of Christmas is rooted in carols, stories and traditions. Reigniting that festive spirit, Hallmark Channel has launched its ‘Countdown to Christmas’ event with the premiere of an impressive movie lineup that will explore evocative themes such as faith. The lineup has ‘Love, Lights, Hanukkah!’, a movie that revolves around the Jewish festival Hanukkah. This hints that the movie might explore a faith-based narrative. Born in Toronto, Canada, Mia Kirshner comes from a family of Holocaust survivors. Her journalist father was born in a displaced camp in Germany and her mother was a Bulgarian-Jewish refugee, as reported by Hallmark. Mia embarked on an acting career in the early 1990s. She is best remembered for roles in ‘Love and Human Remains’, ‘Exotica’ and ‘The Grass Harp’.

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - The fourth Hallmark Channel “Countdown to Christmas Hanukkah movie, “Love, Lights, Hanukkah! premieres at 8 p.m. tonight.
“Love, Lights, Hanukkah! stars Mia Kirshner as Christina Rossi, the chef and owner of an Italian restaurant in Cleveland she has taken over from her late mother, who learns from a DNA test that she is Jewish as she is preparing for the restaurant s busiest time of year, Christmas.
The discovery leads her to a new family, new traditions and a new and an unlikely romance with handsome, witty and very opinionated restaurant critic/author David Singer (Ben Savage) over eight nights.

Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” event continues with a nod to the Jewish holiday of the season, with the premiere of “Love, Lights, Hanukkah!” The film stars Mia Kirshner, Ben Savage and Marilu Henner.
The film is sure to be a treat for Jewish fans of the network eager to see their holiday represented in their third overall film on the network, after 2019’s “Holiday Date” and “Double Holiday,” but also fans of the stars. While Henner might be recognizable to Hallmark fans for her role in the “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries” movies, Kirshner’s only prior role on Hallmark was in the film “Kiss at Pine Lake.” In recent years, she is best known for her role as Amanda Grayson on “Star Trek: Discovery,” and for her portrayal as Bethany Slade in Lifetime’s “The College Admissions Scandal” movie.
