Travel quarantine could ease May 1 if more residents vaccinated

Guam’s mandatory 14-day travel quarantine could be eased, starting May 1, provided at least half of the island’s adult population is fully vaccinated by that time, according to Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero. Guam currently is halfway toward meeting that target, said Dr. Felix Cabrera, who is chief medical officer at the Department of Public Health and Social Services. He said Guam currently is administering 1,557 vaccine doses per day, and the number of doses will increase significantly during the next couple of weeks. The governor Monday announced the reopening plan, called the “Path to Half,” which would allow some arriving travelers to skip the 14-day hotel quarantine altogether.
