NEC states position on alleged printing of N60 billion by FG

Daily Post Nigeria Published The National Economic Council (NEC) has affirmed that there was no printing of N60 billion or any other amount whatsoever to shore up allocation for March as wrongly insinuated recently in the press. Laolu Akande, the Spokesman to Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, said the NEC reached this conclusion having received presentations from the Minister of Finance, the Central Bank Governor, and the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF). Akande, in a statement detailing the NEC meeting on Thursday, said the Governors, having critically reviewed the matter took the position today at the meeting of NEC chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Reps move to probe organ trafficking value chain - Daily Post Nigeria

Daily Post Nigeria Published The House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Human rights and National Security and Intelligence to investigate reports of organ trafficking in Nigeria. The committee was mandated to investigate the entire value chain of the trade in a bid to end it. This decision was sequel to a motion moved by Rimamnde Shawulu and Olajide Olatubosun on Thursday during plenary. Moving the motion on behalf of the duo, Shawulu made reference to the report of seized cargo from Nigeria with 7,200 male sex organs by the Chinese authorities. Although the report was debunked to be fake news by different sources, Shawulu claimed that armed groups were involved in organ trade to finance their activities.

Biafra: We ll shut down Gulf of Guinea on May 30 - BNL insists

Biafra Nations League, BNL, has revealed its plans to completely shut down the Gulf of Guinea on May 30, threatening to hoist the Biafran flag. The group pleaded with travellers to exercise patience and not to travel to the area from 7am to the 12am on the said date. The group said it would carry out its threat of hoisting the Biafran flags in Bakassi Peninsula to mark the Biafra Day memorial. Chief Head of Operations of BNL, Henry Edet, in a statement to DAILY POST on Thursday, said this was also among decisions reached by the group during the visit of the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard and his Deputy, Ebuta Akor Takon to Isangele, a town in Bakassi Peninsula controlled by Cameroon.
