President Lungu says he is greatly saddened by rising levels of moral degradation in young people manifesting in immorality, juvenile delinquency and wanton abuse of the internet.
He pointed out that moral values among youths have collapsed and been overtaken by a culture of delinquency and abuse of recreational drugs.

UNITED Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) has
approached the High Court seeking an eviction order against its excommunicated
pastor who is allegedly refusing to vacate the church house.
Rev Antony Unganayi Nyandoro is a former pastor of UPCI who
has since been excommunicated from the church. His ministerial licence was also
annulled.
He was accused of leading a group of church members who
sought to unconstitutionally replace the church’s national board and executive
board.
Rev Nyandoro was also accused by his rivals of gross
mismanagement of church funds and usurping the functions of the executive
board.

As Christmas draws near, religious leaders call for prayer, a return to family life, an increase in faith and solidarity among mankind.
Archbishop Barbara Burke, of the Shouter Baptist, said while the faith would be celebrating both Christmas and New Year’s Day with two services each and observing all COVID-19 protocols, the services were not the main concern.
Burke, who is also a Justice of the Peace, called for the nation to pray without ceasing because of the state of crime in T&T.
She said there was too much crime occurring in the country, crimes people were not even aware existed.
