TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will be dedicating its new mobile medical unit on Monday, in what they call their response to this deadly virus.
The medical mobile unit, purchased at a cost of approximately $300,000, was financed primarily through donations from members of Bethel s congregation with support from other members in the community. This is our response to this deadly virus. We will use this unit to create hope and healing in serving underserved communities, said Pastor RB Holmes. Hopefully, this medical unit will play a significant role in working to close the health disparities in disadvantaged neighborhoods.â

“This is our response to this deadly virus,” Holmes said. “We will use this unit to create hope and healing in serving underserved communities. Hopefully, this medical unit will play a significant role in working to close the health disparities in disadvantaged neighborhoods.”
The mobile medical unit is a state-of-the-art vehicle, with two examination rooms, a laboratory, rest room, table and waiting area.
Purchase of the $300,000 vehicle was made possible through donations from church members and community supporters. Donations are still being accepted. Contact the church at BethelTally.org or call 850-222-8440.
Deacon Malcolm Barnes contributed $30,000 from the Barnes-Kininessi Trust in recognition of his wife, the late Barbara K. Barnes, former provost at Florida A&M University. He sees the gift as a living memorial to her charitable and compassionate spirit.”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Joseph Hatchett, the first Black justice on the Florida Supreme Court, lay in state Friday in the Supreme Court rotunda after his death last week at age 88.
“He was a great judge, but more importantly a great man,” said Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker, who was among the people paying their respects to Hatchett. “It’s important that we study his history as a lawyer and as a judge. It reminds us of the importance of the role of the judiciary and the rule of law.”
