No appointment necessary: Danbury Library lifting some COVID restrictions FacebookTwitterEmail DANBURY Browsing the shelves for a new read will soon be possible again at Danbury Library. Danbury Library will reopen next Monday, March 22 for in-person browsing, with no appointments required. The main floor, newly renovated junior library, and the music, movies and language center will be open. Masks and social distancing will be required. Public restrooms, meeting space, study pods, sitting areas and faxing services are not available. “As an essential city asset, the Danbury Library is committed to being a welcoming destination, responsive to the needs of our city’s diverse community, and a source of inspiration through words and ideas,” the library said in a press release announcing the opening.

Only curbside services will be available. In-person computer appointments will be suspended until after Jan. 6. The book drop box will remain open. Fines will be waived until Jan. 6. During this time, staff will reconfigure the computer lab to better ensure social distancing, the library said. Staff will also train on new software and services to better support the community during the pandemic.
