Sideshow reading series
Sideshow Theatre Company inaugurates its House Party Series, consisting of five virtual readings of works by the company s favorite playwrights, with Thin Mints by Ellen Steves. The action unfolds at the Bonfire Girls scouting group s five-day camping retreat during which the girls terrorize and traumatize each other in their efforts to be elected the troop s new leader.
The best digital events I ve been to have all placed a big emphasis on creating community and joy. Just because we re isolated doesn t mean we have to be alone, said artistic director Regina Victor in a prepared statement. She described the series as re-creating the vibe of showing up to someone s house for a kickback to hear a new play.

Representatives from the California Office of Emergency Services and Nevada County Office of Emergency Services toured the cleanup efforts Wednesday morning off Newtown and Jones Bar roads, where the majority of the fire’s damage to structures occurred, including at the historic Woolman at Sierra Friends Center location.

Over the past few years, gaming has become an important part of Indiana State Museum programming. Now, thanks to a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services in partnership with the organization Games for Change, we’re taking it up several levels.
The museum has been accepted into Game Plan, a game-design program that teaches pre-teens and teenagers coding and how to create games. Educators from the museum will be taught the fundamentals of game design and how they can incorporate those fundamentals into a museum setting, and they’ll use that information in programs the museum offers.
