Sleeves up: Vaccines on the way to local nursing homes
1/1/21 2:58 AM
Local long-term care facilities are preparing to vaccinate residents and staff as the long-awaited vaccine roll-out marches on.
The first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines went to select long-term care facilities around the state through a government partnership with CVS Omnicare. At least one Johnson County long-term care facility Aspen Trace Family-first Senior Living received the vaccine Monday. Nearby, Bethany Village, a southside American Senior Communities facility, got a shipment.
Officials at other long-term care facilities such as Compass Park Indiana Masonic Home and Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center, both of Franklin, are finalizing the details of their vaccination plans and getting consent forms signed while awaiting their shipment dates.
