Dexter Lumis loses her, but still leaves with her Share this story The main event of tonight’s (Aug. 3) episode of NXT was a “Love Her or Lose Her” match pitting Dexter Lumis against Johnny Gargano. If Gargano wins, the romance between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis must come to an end. Before the match, Gargano and Candice LeRae said they knew it wouldn’t be popular, but it was in Hartwell’s best interests for Johnny to put an end to InDex. Hartwell remained conflicted, not knowing what the right choice was between love and family. Once the match began, it didn’t take long before Hartwell made her way down to ringside to get a closer look at the action while the fans chanted “InDex.” LeRae followed suit shortly thereafter.

Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph Things got serious around here last week as NXT Champion Karrion Kross attacked William Regal to close the show. Samoa Joe is ready to destroy him as a result and that is all this needs to be. We are less than a month away from Takeover and that means it is time to start getting the card ready. Let’s get to it. The opening video recaps the end of last week’s show, as Karrion Kross left William Regal laying. Tommaso Ciampa/Timothy Thatcher vs. Pete Dunne/Oney Lorcan Thatcher and Dunne get things going with neither being able to get very far on the mat. Ciampa and Lorcan come in with Ciampa grinding on a headlock. A shot to the face knocks Lorcan outside and the beating continues back inside. Ciampa wants Dunne, who comes in and blasts him with a clothesline. Everything breaks down for a second with Ciampa and Thatcher pounding away with forearms to the chest. NXT TV Aired live July 27, 2021 on Syfy Network [Hour One] Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, and Beth Phoenix checked in from ringside. Beth announced Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez appearing later in the show to address the state of the NXT Women’s Division. Wade Barrett hyped up Adam Cole vs. Bronson Reed for later on… Entrances for the next tag team match took place… 1. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher vs. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Dunne and Thatcher started the match off evenly with catch wrestling. Thatcher went for an armbar, but Dunne reversed it into a heel hook. Thatcher got into the octopus pose to fend back Dunne. Dunne went for a Juji Gatame, but Thatcher reversed it into a half crab. Dunne used his feet to shove away Thatcher for another rest period. Ciampa and Lorcan tagged in.
