Australian internationals Caitlin Foord and Sam Kerr have, not for the first time this season, illuminated the Women s Super League with match-winning performances for their London clubs.
Foord, back to her best in Arsenal s starting line-up after recent knee problems, scored twice in the space of three first-half minutes to set the Gunners on the way to a 4-0 triumph at Birmingham on Sunday.
Then it was her Matildas captain Kerr who again took centre stage for Chelsea, heading home a thumping early opening goal and creating the second in the Blues 2-0 win at West Ham which keeps them top of the WSL table.

Manchester City needed a late goal to beat Everton and stay within striking distance of Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea.

Steph Houghton made her 200th appearance for Manchester City but it was a hard-fought three points gained against Everton.
Sam Mewis might have opened the scoring for City, in a first half that saw the visitors lose both Danielle Turner and Ingrid Moe Wold to injury.

Ten-player Chelsea overcame Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 16 1st leg at Kingsmeadow.
Pernille Harder went close for Chelsea in the opening seconds and Ji So-yun might have scored before Hedvig Lindahl tipped a Harder strike over the bar.
However, Sophie Ingle conceded a penalty when catching Rasheedat Ajibade in the box and was shown a red card. Ann-Katrin Berger came to the rescue for the Blues, saving the spot-kick from Deyna Castellanos, with Beth England clearing the loose ball.
