3 hours ago ARLINGTON, Texas - The United States Bowling Congress has compiled its collection of oil patterns used at short- and long-duration events and on the Professional Women s Bowling Association Tour and created a location for them all to be accessed and downloaded. The USBC Oil Pattern Bank will give bowlers, proprietors and tournament operators the ability to browse and select oil patterns from nearly every USBC and PWBA Tour national event since 2015. This is going to be a great resource for the bowling community, USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. If you re preparing for upcoming events or looking to provide a new challenge for your tournament competitors, you can download these patterns and ask your local center to run them for you.

March 3, 2021 ARLINGTON, Texas - Youth bowlers are the future of the sport of bowling and have more opportunities than ever to hone and test their skills on the lanes. For young female competitors, the relaunching of the Professional Women s Bowling Association Tour in 2015 gave some the opportunity to redirect their career trajectories, while the youngest of the rising stars found a new group of role models and some unexpected dreams to chase. Among the latter was Jillian Martin of Stow, Ohio, and Victoria Varano of Stony Point, New York, who both turned 11 years old the year the PWBA Tour returned and have spent much of their time since in the national spotlight, working toward becoming the leaders of the next generation of PWBA standouts.

Shiery named to U S Bowling Congress Hall of Fame

The web site www.bowl.com reports Shiery fell short of reaching the required 70 percent of the votes cast but the USBC Hall of Fame Committee had the opportunity to select her for induction. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 USBC Hall of Fame inductees would be honored in person during the 2022 USBC Convention. Shiery is a nine-time Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour champion, which includes one major victory at the 1997 USBC Queens Tournament.

February 2, 2021 ARLINGTON, Texas - Sandra Jo Shiery of Coldwater, Michigan, and Mark Williams of Beaumont, Texas, have been elected to the Shiery and Williams were on the ballot of five men and two women voted on by a national panel of USBC Hall of Fame members, veteran bowling writers and USBC Board members. Though both fell short of reaching the required 70% of the votes cast, the USBC Hall of Fame Committee had the opportunity to select them for induction, and they will complete the four-person 2021 USBC Hall of Fame class. In late October, husband and wife Bill and Barbara Chrisman of Pleasant View, Utah, the co-founders of Storm Products, Inc., were elected by the committee in the Meritorious Service category. They will be the seventh husband and wife overall to be inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame.

Just two days shy of her 25th birthday, Bond rebounded from a ninth-frame split with a title-clinching double, defeating top seed Lindsay Boomershine of Perry, Utah, 222-210. The Hall of Fame Classic was the final event of the PWBA Kickoff Classic Series, which included three national tour stops and one regional event during its seven-day run at the International Training and Research Center, the home of Team USA. The victory, broadcast live on BowlTV, earned Bond a $10,000 top prize. The right-hander already was a three-time PWBA regional winner, in addition to a victory at the made-for-TV Go Bowling! PWBA Regional Showdown in 2019, but the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the pandemic delayed her opportunity to build on the things she learned during her rookie campaign in 2019.
