Aslockton Hall Nursing Home residents celebrates 101st birthday with special wish

Covid restrictions led to a very different celebration for a care home resident on her 101st birthday.
Restricted visiting arrangements and social distancing meant a family party, like the one she had for 100th birthday, was not possible for Hilda Gunn, who lives at Aslockton Hall Nursing Home.
Hilda was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and as a young woman served in the Womenâs Auxiliary Air Force as a meteorological observer for five years.

After leaving, Hilda trained as a teacher at a college in Bedford and went on to teach for a total of 30 years across three junior schools.

Two inseparable 100-year-old identical twins received their Covid vaccines this week and were delighted to get their jabs together.

And just like the major events throughout their lifetimes so far, the sisters were side-by-side once again as they were given the coronavirus jabs on Wednesday.
The ladies, believed to be the UK s oldest identical twins, were vaccinated at the Rochester Healthy Living Centre.
